Run Disk Cleanup

Step 1:

Step 2:

Click the Disk Cleanup button in the disk properties window.


Step 3:

Select the types of files you want to delete and click OK. This includes temporary files, log files, files in your recycle bin, and other unimportant files.


You can also clean up system files, which don’t appear in the list here. Click the Clean up system files button if you also want to delete system files.

Step 4:

After you do, you can click the More Options button and use the Cleanup button under System Restore and Shadow Copies to delete system restore data. This button deletes all but the most recent restore point, so ensure your computer is working properly before using it – you won’t be able to use older system restore points.


Uninstall Desktop Apps you no longer need

Uninstall desktop apps you don’t need any more in programs and Features.

Step 1:

Search on The Start Menu for  Programs and Features


Step 2:

Tap or Right-click a program which you want to Uninstall and then tap or click Uninstall option. You might ask for an admin password or to confirm your choice.

Defragment your Hard Disk

Defragmentation is like cleaning house for your PC, it picks up all of the pieces of data that are spread across your hard drive and puts them back together again. When a File is installed then that file takes place on Hard Disk randomly, install installing a file is broken up into pieces to fit on a disk. Because files are constantly being written, deleted and resized.Space(holes) that are left blank during installing file are unusable. Step 1:

Open the disk optimization tool by searching for “optimize” or “defrag” in the taskbar.

Check the percentage of fragmented files in the results.

There is no hard and fast rule about how fragmented your drive should be before you defrag it. You might want to keep your fragmentation percentage under 5% or so, however, so that the defragmentation process doesn’t take too long to finish.

Step 4:

If you want to defragment your hard disk Click Optimize. It’s best to do this when you don’t need to use your computer for anything else, so you can let Windows defragment the drive efficiently.


When Windows is done, your drive should say 0% fragmented in the Optimize Drives Utility.
